Review: Pizza Hut Bone Out Chicken Wings
Summary: Pizza Hut’s Bone Out Chicken Wings are a great option if someone in the house wants pizza and someone else wants wings. A little soggy with slightly above-average flavor. Otherwise, nothing remarkable here.
I wanted to watch the big Buffalo Bills football game and I wanted to eat some chicken wings while I did it. Ever since my wife moved out I’ve been doing a lot of ordering in. I’d seen some commercials for these Pizza Hut chicken wings, so I figured “what the heck… let me try these dang things.”
I got them with the Buffalo Burnin’ Hot sauce because I am a fiend for heat and usually these fast food chain wings aren’t hot enough for me. Also, I liked how the flavor was Buffalo and my team, the Bills, are from Buffalo.
I ordered the 24 wings and ate them all by the end of the first half. They weren’t the best wings ever, but they were OK with the Burnin’ sauce. I still think they should make the sauce even hotter.
I felt very full in the second half, and my Bills didn’t do too much better than usual. Oh well!
Meal Context Score: 6 out of 10 (Bills lost)
The chicken itself wasn’t very flavorful and reminded me of regular chicken from the store that wifey used to cook for me.
I did end up liking the Burnin’ sauce with its tabasco-like kick and, compared to most fast food joints, it was spicier than what you’re able to get. If it was up to me, the sauce would be even hotter, but I understand that the general public probably can’t take the heat.
The breading, while a little soggy, was pretty good and did a good job of soaking up the sauce flavor without getting in the way.
Taste Score: 6 out of 10
These babies look really good on TV, but a little below average in-person. They are runny, slimy, and tiny-looking when you take them out of the wrapper. They’re definitely not super appetizing sitting in the foil.
What can you really expect out of fast food though? We know we’re not getting ourselves in for a gourmet dining experience. We just want to eat some wings, who cares what they freaking look like?
Look Score: 3 out of 10
Honestly, with the hot sauce I was expecting things to be a little rougher. Maybe it was the quantity (24) of wings that I put down, but it sort of felt like everything just congealed into a giant blob in my stomach. I felt lethargic, but satiated.
The next morning on the toilet wasn’t pleasant but, hey, is it ever pleasant?
Are you fucking joking $60 for 12!tiny wings and then tiny tiny ribs aka 6 little no meat ribs. Wtf did I just spend money on. Waste of time b
Looks like they jacked up the price on you… You must be in a remote location!
Tip from the editor: If you finish the first 6 wings and can tell you’re going to need more than the 12 total, go to the fridge and wrap the remaining wings with your favorite cold cut: turkey, ham, or roast beef. You can even do cheese slices in a pinch. Delicious and filling!
Pizza Hut Bone Out Wings are exceptionally good. Sometimes they don’t have enough sauce. However, when the sauce is heavy, they are the BEST! I particularly like to eat them cold for breakfast.
You didn’t have to be rude by cursing. I thought they were pretty good, and the price was so high because you most likely bought pizza with it.
I did the turkey wrap hack and it was great! Totally worth the stomach ache. Thanks Freezy Boys!
